| | Fair Trade is an obligation | |
|
Paul Smith attended the launch of Fair Trade Fortnight at the Create Centre in Bristol West. The fortnight of activities was opened by the Lord Mayor and local Labour MP Kerry McCarthy
(Bristol West MP Stephen Williams, was not present). The focus of the launch were Mosaics produced by pupils from primary schools in central Bristol.
Paul Smith commented, "Bristol's history makes fair trade an obligation rather than an extra. Bristol has been the centre for the most unfair trade of all the trade in people. It is
excellent that the Gloucester Road, in the City, has become an important centre for promoting fair trade with a cluster of fair trade and ethical retailers."
