On Thursday, June 23rd, Bristol West voters will join the rest of the UK in voting on whether the UK should remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union. It’s a once in generation decision and one that will shape the future of the country for decades to come.
It is vital that Labour voters turn out and make their voices heard. Younger voters, in particular, could help to define the outcome of the vote. Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. Before then, there are loads of ways to get involved and help campaign with the Labour In campaign. Visit www.laboursouthwest.org.uk/bris_eu for more details of events near you.
The Labour Party and the Bristol West CLP are clear that Britain is better off in Europe.
> More than 3 million British jobs are linked to Europe
> Paid holiday, maternity and paternity leave are protected by Europe
> Almost half of all British exports go to the European Union
> Consumer rights are protected, while British families save on average £450 a year at the checkout
> Britain’s influence as a world power is strongest as part of the European Union.
We need to share our Labour message across the city of Bristol, our best way of doing this is through our members. We’d love to hear from you about how you can help. Head to the Labour South West website or contact your ward organiser.
